iPhone Application Review: Teach Me – Kindergarten
iPhone Application Description:![]()
Teach Me – Kindergarten is an educational game for the iPhone. Up to four children’s names can be entered to play, and their progress will be saved for future playing. Children are “quizzed” on addition and subtraction problems, basic word completion, and identifying sight words. For each question, the voiceover asks the player to find something, and the child is provided with a set of four answers from which they can choose an answer. For each correct answer they receive a green check mark at the bottom of the screen. Once they have amassed three check marks or correct answers, they receive a coin for their bank. The player can redeem their coins for a sticker with which they can create a scene on a chosen backdrop. For example, they may choose the “street” sticker and then continue to use coins to place different vehicles on the street.
Pros of this iPhone application:
- The math problems can be set to two different levels to make more challenging.
- Voice over provides positive reinforcement when the player chooses the correct answer or encouragement to keep trying
- The subject questions are varied, so it might be a math question, then a sight word and so on
Cons of this iPhone application:
- Only one player can play at a time

Overall:
Teach Me – Kindergarten is a great educational game for the iPhone that offers variety and rewards for their hard work. Overall, this iPhone application is a 5 out of 5.
